Short answer
Player reports describe the lit Brass Lantern as a way to see Michael while he moves invisibly in Shape Jump. Pick it up, use the displayed activation control and watch for the light. Do not assume simply carrying an unlit lantern protects you, or that its glow guarantees Michael cannot attack.

Where can you find a Brass Lantern?
The linked guide reports it on exposed surfaces such as desks and workbenches. Check the item name and pickup prompt rather than assuming every glowing object is the lantern. No guaranteed house, coordinate or spawn count is verified here.
How to use the lantern around an objective
- Identify the item
Confirm the Brass Lantern name before replacing equipment you still need.
- Activate it
Use the current item prompt and check for visible light. Button bindings depend on your platform and settings.
- Watch while a teammate works
Try the reported reveal while covering a car repair or exit interaction. Keep an escape route in mind.
- Call out what you see
Describe Michael's direction and movement. A warning is useful; a promise that the area is safe is not.

What if the lantern does not stop Michael?
Revealing movement and preventing an attack are different claims. The independent guide could not consistently reproduce blinding or blocking a Shape Jump exit. We have not verified range, duration, damage, or interactions with Reality Tear. Do not stand still to test a supposed immunity in a live match.
For a repeatable test, record the build, whether the lantern was lit, the visible result and which Michael ability was used. Compare normal Shape Jump restrictions separately from selected abilities.
Is it the same as the Fragile Hourglass?
No. Use the item name, not its rarity color, to identify it. Our Hourglass notes describe separate, still partly unverified reports; do not transfer those effects to the lantern.
